It's a photobook by a Japanese idol. That's usually the point.

Right. It's you who think that in your head. When you put them in bed, their upper body showing that makes it look like they're naked, wrapped up in a cover, with their hair all messed up (I'm referring to a specific one Risa had in her photobook). Or when Sayumi leaning down in front of a bed focusing on her arse up-close (older photobook of her). Or the one where she was lying in a bed with her eyes closed and her mouth open like she just had an orgasm along with only showing her upper body that suggest as if she is naked (another of her older photobook). Those are some of the many examples. Nope. It is only in your head. They had absolutely no intention of making you think that way.

Right...

Let's not kid ourselves. There is a lot of calculated thought put into the smallest details to market products.

I'm sure there's reason for this or that setup. It's supposed to be suggestive. And it is.
But not all of us go around thinking "sex shot!" because of it.

Wow, you really put a lot of thought into this.
Quite descriptive as well.

And, that's not even mentioning the infamous photobook that Yaguchi Mari shot in Vietnam ...

The shapes that her body make in this picture are gorgeous.

The pose does look uncomfortable to hold though.

Of course not. And I certainly don't think that way with every picture they put on their photobooks, even if they're using their looks to sell a bunch of books at the end of the day. I just hate that mentality when people pretend it is not suggestive AT ALL and that you're the one who's a pervet for even mentioning it, especially when pictures can get very suggestive.

Not sure wether you're being sarcastic or not. If it makes things any different, I'm a straight female who has no sexual pleasure in women's bodies. I have been trained to think as a marketeer and understand people's thoughts/behaviour in order to influence them (among other things). If you want to feel it's innocent and live in your own bubble, up to you. But don't go telling others it's in their head.

Now I understand it sounds like we're both arguing for the both extremes. Just to be clear, I don't think every picture is a sex shot, but I don't think it's as innocent as you make it out to be either. You already agreed that it is suggestive, it's not difficult to be in agreement here.

Thank you. Now you got me all curious about it because I haven't seen that one.

It's probably not anything too out of the ordinary. It's only infamous because Mari and the Utaban hosts made it a running joke that the "former leader of Mini Moni" had released a "filthy" photobook. This video is a good summary:
