Man you have to wonder what happened with Mikan to make it fail so spectacularly. I mean, it's not even a bad song

That's a really good question. Even the fans seem to love Mikan at concerts so I wonder what the problem was.

It's a fine song (good, but not great), but it was a bit underwhelming at the time, most fans were expecting something different I guess.

Anyway, generasia lists Mikan as having sold 38,667 copies in total (first week 28,082), is this data correct?

Pretty much all of the sales numbers on the wikis were directly transcribed from Oricon as they came out. The editors at Wikipedia Japan did it first, then we did it at ThePPN, then when ThePPN collapsed and J-Ongaku and Generasia replaced it, the new editors (e.g., our own Nayoko-Kihara) kept doing it. So yes, the numbers are correct.
