I have a way easier time warming up to the S/mileage noobs than to the Momusu noobs. It's a combination of being 4 instead of 8, and these girls being overall better additions. Even Meimi who I disliked at first has proven herself worth by singing live quite decently at Yomiuri Land, that's her very first live performance isn't it?

S/mileage went through a whole concert this fall? And watching it last night confirmed whatever I said back during the Youtube streaming - she sounds like dying cats. Thankfully she doesn't sound as bad in studio/after having been coached through how to sing (as in, on albums).

The concert tour started within a month after the new members joined, they clearly didn't have any time for proper vocal training until after the tour and the smile campaign.

And it's not like it Tsunku hasn't done this before, picking up girls that clearly need plenty of training. And it's pretty damn obvious why she has become front girl, even though she still needs some TLC on the vocal department. She and Ayacho (who as the current front girl also still has her vocal issues) seem to be made for each other, there's a clear click between them.

And it's on the one hand said that all this developments withing the group pushed Yuuka away, but having seen them the last few months I can't say that I'm surprise or sad anymore that she's leaving. It almost feels like it was the right thing to do for the group. The sad part is that she didn't get a plan B within H!P, she would have been a positive asset for another group or she could even have been a soloist if she stayed a bit longer to gain more experience. But I can also see that Karin is the chosen one to take the solo route in due time.
