Tsuji and her husband announced the name of their fifth child and second daughter to be Yumea (夢空). All 5 children have the kanji "空" in their names

Talent Tsuji Nozomi and her husband Sugiura Taiyo updated their respective Instagram accounts on the 14th to announce the name of their fifth child, a daughter. They named her “Yumea” (夢空).

Tsuji explained, “We wanted a name that everyone in the family could agree on, so after discussing it extensively as a family, we decided on the name ‘Yumea’ (夢空).” Sugiura also added, “We held numerous family meetings and decided on the name together.”

There's a Taiwanese folk metal band called Crescent Lament which has a song entitled 夢空 but according to Google the pronunciation is totally different: mèng kōng.



Era also a 20 year old K-1 fighter named 夢空 but she pronounces it "Yura"

Finally there's a character named Yumea Antiqua in Xenoblade Chronicles. But her name in Japanese is actually ユミア, that is, Yumia.

So I think this is an extremely rare name. I don't know how it comes off to the average Japanese person, but to me it sounds way too much like ユーモア, which is "Humor."
