Phantom Siita is a retro horror idol group produced by Ado (I have no idea who they are other than they don't show their face in public and are also a big deal in Japan) and major debut single came out in May. Don't get too attached to Hisui (green) as she had to leave for health reasons.



Parutan from P101 is in Cutie Street so I've been following the group. If you prefer cute idols, Cutie Street may be for you.

A new male audition to form a global group


PRODUCE 101 JAPAN is Japan’s largest-scale idol survival audition program.
Since its first season in 2019, the show has sparked an audition boom across Japan,
producing a total of three seasons to date.​​​​

Out of 101 trainees dreaming of debut, the final debut group is determined​
solely by 100% viewer votes.
Through this program, Japan’s top-tier idol groups​—JO1, INI, and ME:I—have been born.

The fourth season, PRODUCE 101 JAPAN – SHINSEKAI,
expands the show's universe beyond Japan to the entire world.​
For the first time in PRODUCE 101 JAPAN history,
applications are open to boys regardless of nationality or place of residence.
Global broadcasting and international fan voting will also be introduced
for the very first time.

The birth of the first global boy group produced from Japan
by fans around the world!​

We invite trainees from across the globe to take on this challenge,​ and we look forward to welcoming producers (viewers) worldwide
to join this journey into a new world.​​

Application Period: July 17, 2025 – September 4, 2025
Broadcast Schedule: Scheduled for the first half of 2026

moxymill is the group from the audition Yuhane had to drop out from. It also has two girls from P101 (Rio and Yurara). Each member has a "charm" and each new song is based on a different charm. This time, it's Rino's crush that is front and centre.

And of course, the Sakamichi groups' songs and MVs are much too pretty to be goth, but Sakurazaka46 somehow manages to head in that direction more often than not:

And even Hinatazaka46, which is basically a tribute to high-sugar blue cupcake frosting, has enough of that Sakamichi sense of deep mystery (and the building they're dancing in front of looks more than a bit like a Cold War-era East German factory decorated for May Day).
