Who sang the ballad better, Oda or Takagi?

Takagi says the difficulty level for recording this was so high, but she had a lot of fun. She says Oda Sakura's version is also nice.

I think mixing them is a mistake. If you're going to perform a slow ballad as a duet, the individual performances need to be different enough that they complement each other. Thus male/female, melody/harmony, call/response, or something like that. Here, their performances are similar enough that the subtleties of each are lost.

I watched Sayuki’s one first. I got goosebump. Then, I watched Sakura’s one. I got another goosebump. Damn.

I think I like Sakura’s one more. Her rendition is a bit softer, sweeter, and more expressive. Sayuki has better control, technique, and volume. But damn these aren’t covers - they are performing.

They need to compliment each other's harmonies and fakes. Overlaying two videos in a ballad made specifically for solo is not the best.

Neither one really compares to MISIA's version at all, but out of the 2, I prefer Takagi's. There wasn't anything terrible about Sakura's; that song just needs a powerhouse and I feel like Sayubee came closer to that tbh.

This definitely has me excited for the summer concert, though!
