I wish they [PURPLEBECK] would get more attention; they're really talented! I see you also like ANS's new song, too. :thumbs-up:

Former GOOD DAY members Jeewon, Chaesol, Viva (now Sunn), Lucky (now Belle), and Haeun (now Ye Ah) just re-debuted with 2 other girls in cignature:

I like the song! It almost sounds it could've been a Red Velvet track. Glad to see some of my GOOD DAY girls again.

GFRIEND also has a new song out. It's in the same vein as "Time for the moon night" and "Sunrise", which automatically means I love it. :fear:

Thanks for that reminder. I usually post about them in the KSS thread but also forget about them. :fear:

Not sure why I didn't immediately check out Official HIGE DANdism after Airi's "Break it down", but damn this song is good:

^ I basically listen to Higedan non-stop these days.

Meanwhile though, this video just dropped. Not sure what to make of it. Avu-chan is obviously crazy talented but I can't say I really LIKE the way she sings.

Yeah, I watched one last week and her range is nuts. You gotta wonder how long it's gonna take before her voice is totally shot, though.
I've become a little obsessed with watching those FIRST TAKE videos, lol. I really like the two that LiSA did.

IZ*ONE finally released their 1st full album. I've chosen this video cause the actual MV has too many cuts imo.

Dreamcatcher also just released their 1st full album. The title (Scream) isn't my favorite, so I'm posting "Black Or White" instead. ;)

^ LiSA definitely killed that "Gurenge" First Take. Kpop isn't really my thing, but "Black or White" is pretty catchy. That bouncy backbeat for some reason made me think of Sekai no Owari's "Anti Hero." Man that was a bop, gonna listen to it right now. Wonder what happened to them, they just kinda fell off, didn't even release any singles last year.

Weren't they working on an English-language album to debut in the USA? I don't keep up with them, but I swear I remember reading that more than once.

Moh: I'm not sure how I feel about "Fiesta", but I like what little I've been able to hear from Dreamcatcher's release.

Avu-chan is amazing but I totally get what you mean. As for me, I like her singing but it depends on the style of the song and how she uses her voice. She sings a bit nasally, and in a sort of funky v-kei way. I feel like Ziyoou-vachi itself, is a really experimental band which is why their songs tend to be hit or miss. The albums Kujyaku (2011), Kirei (2015), and Q (2017) feature some of their best works ever in my opinion, but I only enjoyed about 3 tracks on BL sadly :/

Here are two clips from artists that are kind of mirror images of each other, one being non-Japanese singing in Japanese, and the other being, well, the opposite of that.

The first is from a brother-sister preteen duo that hail from the trendy Maboneng precinct of Johannesburg, South Africa and go by the name of Biko's Manna. They're covering Hakujitsu, a track by the Japanese group King Gnu and is worth a listen on its own.

The second is a clip from a couple of years ago but recently showed up on my YT feed, by the London-based group Superorganism, which is fronted by 20-year-old Orono Noguchi, who comes from Tokyo but spent her formative years in Maine, USA. I'm posting the song Night Time as a sample of their work but really I could've picked any one of their videos, which are all crazily creative and fun. For sure also check out Something For Your M.I.N.D. and Nobody Cares.

Wasn't super into Weki Meki's new track at first, but the dance practice definitely changed my mind.

Lianne La Havas is back! I thought she had dropped off the face of the Earth, honestly. Missed that voice.
