Man, the artifacting is kind of ridiculous on that. Even when I was watching it on cable (in SD res), there was still heaps of artifacting.
I was hoping the higher def YT vid would have less artifacting. Nope.

yeah, NHK is trying to show off their 8K resolution screens for their Olympic broadcast. It doesn't look good on NHK World's streaming channel or youtube at all. The 8K lighting and coloring makes the girls faces look blurred. But when that giant 8k screen is darkened in Morning Musume. '19's performance or during the talk segment, everything is clear quality again.

Nothing we can do about that unless someone uploads the show in super high quality

Lighting and colour are the least of the problem. The frankly disgusting level of artifacting and macroblocking is sickening in this day and age.
How low is the bitrate on that anyway, especially for the company that pioneered 1080i & the upcoming 8k.

On a side note, I wish H!P concert BDs went back to being 1080i60 instead of the current 1080p24. (or 1080p30 before that)

I still hope one day we'll get the 2018/2019 Goodbye Hello Countdown Concert in 4k at some point.

Hello Pro members Inaba Manaka, Inoue Rei, and Kishimoto Yumeno show off their idol appeal and then take a compatibility test with comedian Sandwich Man Takeshi Tomizawa called the "Moshi Kabe" box machine.
