As I've said before, I somewhat disagree. The purpose of translating varies depending on the context, the audience, the goal of the translator. In the case of Harosute I would contend that making it easier for fans to sing along is a big part of the goal of the translation. These are pop songs. A translation which is "accurate" but doesn't respect the spirit of the verse is worse in my opinion than a translation which takes liberties but gives you a more authentic feel. Which is to say, what's "properly done" is to some extent subjective. Not that H!P's captions are perfect, but there have been times where people claim they can do better yet their results are often as not unimpressive.
