after the Berryz concert, Miya and Chinami hugged.
Miya heard about Shimizu appointing her as sub/vice captain. she'll do her best as one.

The good thing about this is that it gives the feeling that Berryz is not at the end of their life cycle. Hope good things come from this somehow.

Miya is a good choice actually. Shes more out spoken and outgoing than Captain. Watch the goods promotion where Miya is present with other H!P members. The recent example was with Kanana. Watch how Miya tugged on Kanana's sleeve, just to give her a sign to speak up. Miya can push people without feeling awkward about it. She is the Ice Queen at any rate
