Wow, I just had a creepy realization. I did a fan fic many years ago which had a subplot where a "Maki" character gets advice from the "Ai" character that Maki might connect better with her fans if she opened herself up to them more, a comment prompted by the observation that Maki had the "World of Idoldom" game but had never taken the part that allows you play online out of the box. (This is an old story, and back then it would have been possible that the "home version" and the "online version" would be in separate boxes.) So, Maki becomes more connected to her fans by playing some random cheesy online game with them.

I highly doubt she's played that much - she's a paid sponsor... it's like Victoria Beckham saying she eats Nabisco cookies all day. She might get paid to post it - doesn't change her double zero sized jeans.

7000 hours? Clearly it isn't even a question of liking a game. She's obviously addicted. I hope most of that clocked time was her leaving the game on even when she wasn't actively playing.

That's what many gamers do actually. They just go somewhere where in the game no one can screw them and then come back after sleeping or doing whatever they need to do. I'd take a look at her level to determine her actual activity (because you don't level-up doing nothing).

But then, I haven't played Monster Hunter so I don't know if there is extensive leveling up involved (there should be but I'm not sure).
