I never said it wasn't a big deal I'm just saying it isn't a big deal outside of Japan. Outside of indie films having your song in a film isn't a guarantee that the song will be a hit. In a Tarantino film he uses the music as set pieces to drive the plot so that's why people go out and buy the song afterwards in all other films it's just background music. Plus AKB48 aren't the only famous people to contribute songs.

this is true. i was like oh yay akb48 some factoid i can say to the people i went with to the movie but that's about it. none of them cared.

So i heard Kasai Tomomi is graduating too ?
Can someone give a tally on ***48s graduates this year ? There seems to be quite a lot of them, but the only one that seems to be made as a big deal is Maeda Atsuko it's kinda sad

Ehh?? Tomo~mi-chan is for me one of the "faces of AKB" and has a lovely "real person" aura about her. Sad. I used to get her and Oshima Mai mixed up all the time. It's not like they looked or acted alike, but somehow they occupied the same AKB-space in my brain.

:( Sad I liked her but she could get so much more work as a solo artist (even if it is lower profile work) than as one face among may in AKB48.

It remains to be seen how well the PB will do - it hasn't even been released yet.

Kansai, along with Sayaka, was one the few girl who I thought would make a great pb. If there is one thing you can say about her it's that she's beautiful.

Also her solo PV was good even if the song was only okay:

Does she live near a International school? :giggle:

EDIT

I understand what you were saying now RPB, I'm not gonna post the pic here but what the actual fuck the cover is in no way appropriate. There is a line in the sand and the people who okayed this can't even see that line any more. Disgusting.

They are changing it though so that's good.

^ Thanks for the heads-up! I'm glad I got to see that last concert, though I had to stay up until 4 a.m. to do so. (Damn that time difference! :x )

Some of the highlights:
* The show started with a solo (Plastic no Kuchibiru) by Mariko-sama!
* Sayaka was hot in her solo song (Mushi no Ballad) -- and funny when she was wearing the Team 4 penguin costume at the end.
* Natsu-sensei congratulating Sae on her new gig in Shanghai.
* Announcement of AKB48's biggest concert ever: Nissan Stadium in June 2013. That's the largest venue in Japan, with a capacity of 72,327.

Now that I think about it 72,327 is pretty low for seating capacity. I think there are Cricket stadiums in Australia with up to 90,000 capacity. But it's still pretty huge for a concert. When do you think it wil sell out? Day one or two? Day one knowing AKB48. :D
