Hello Pro Kenshuusei Unit '23, Up Up Girls (2), and YouPlus is invited to perform at the idol event "NEXT IDOL GRANDPRIX 2023" @ TOKYO DOME CITY HALL 3/23~3/24

What is NEXT IDOL GRANDPRIX?


A contest to determine the pinnacle of the next generation of idols.


New debut idols from all over Japan will compete in a fierce competition for the grand prix.

This is a huge scale idol contest with a total of 10 million yen in prizes.



The final festival will be held at TOKYO DOME CITY HALL in Tokyo Dome City!



And what's more, this year, the contest will be held in the morning of the first day, and a super-luxury festival (NIG Fest) will be held in the afternoon of the first day and on the second day!

This is an idol story that aims for the right to perform on a stage that is the envy of all.

There will also be media such as magazine media / and other people related to the idol industry in attendance.

- Upfront's representative announced a challenge to the Kenshuusei for the Recital in March. In order to overcome their weaknesses and show their growth, all 10 Kenshuusei members are divided into 3 units (3, 3, 4) and they are challenged to perform 1 of the 3 songs in a performance showdown. Who will be on which team? and which song will they choose?



The assigned songs they can choose from are (these songs were released before some of them were born) :

This week, Kenshuusei start rehearsal for the March 2023 recital. Plus OCHA NORMA takes on a new challenge by appearing on a singing program. Behind the scenes of that show will be aired at a later date.

- The 3 teams begin vocal rehearsals for their unit songs. Each team will wear team colored T-shirts for rehearsals. Each team focuses on a weakness they need to overcome.
- First is the "Last Kiss" team, Murakoshi, Kawashima, and Shimoitani wearing white T-shirts. They each sang the song in full in front of the teacher and she will decide who will sing which parts of the song. Kawashima will sing Yaguchi's lines (Harmony), Shimoitani will sing Ishiguro's (Harmony), and Murakoshi singing Iida's lines. They practice trying to harmonize their voices.

- The "BABY! Koi ni KNOCK OUT!" team, Yoshida Hinoha and Goto Hana wear orange T-shirts. Onoda Karin is absent that day. This song will help them with their rhythm, which is one of their weaknesses. We see Goto Hana wearing her glasses at rehearsal.



- The "CRAZY ABOUT YOU" team, Matsubara, Hashida, Uemura, and Kamimura, are wearing Pink T-shirts. Matsubara and Uemura are trying to learn the rap parts together. Hashida has to learn the English lyrics.

OCHA NORMA's Yonemura, Kubota, Kitahara, and Tashiro perform with their seniors Ikuta, Nonaka, Kitagawa, Yamazaki, and Sakurai. They are each asked how it felt to perform this song together.

- OCHA NORMA will appear on the TV Tokyo music show "Ultrasonic Soundwave" airing February 25th. The show and OCHA NORMA attempted their first one-camera, one-cut (single take) shoot performance of "Unmei CHACHACHACHA~N!". Harodori has a sneak peek from behind the scenes of the filming. The cameraman has to be very quick on his feet to get the shots. He got tired running around. These one-cut takes are very common in KPOP shoots.

This time, the Kenshuusei teams have vocal rehearsals for the March 2023 recital, plus Hello Pro Kenshuusei Unit '23 also have vocal rehearsals for their new song "Onna de Chikyuu wa Mawatteru", and another Hello Dream collab.


- First is the "Last Kiss" Team. They are still having trouble singing in harmony, especially Shimoitani Yukiho parts with Murakoshi Ayana's.
- Next is the "BABY! Koi ni KNOCK OUT!" team. Onoda Karin returns to rehearsal after being absent for lots of episodes. This is the first time the 3 of them are rehearsing. The 3 of them had to brush up on their basics of singing.

- The "CRAZY ABOUT YOU" team rehearse their vocals. Matsubara is absent that day. Ueno-sensei wants them to relax their shoulders when singing.
- Hello Pro Kenshuusei Unit '23 have vocal rehearsals for their new song "Onna de Chikyuu wa Mawatteru". Matsubara is also absent. Ueno-sensei asks them what the lyrics of the song is about.
- Last week, they played a teaser of the instrumental. This week, they share a snippet of the members singing the song.
