It’s a play on words. Chikatestu means subway, but Chica is Spanish for girl and Testu is Japanese for Iron. So Iron Girls, but also sounds like the word for subway.

2 new groups names announcement


announced : Ame no Mori Kawa Umi leader is Takase Kurumi

Staff after determining they worked really well together in their Megane no Otoko no Ko performance, they decided to also make them one big group "Beyonds", along with new audition members (still to be determined)

The video revealed nothing else that the leaks already showed except the group name meanings and lots of screaming and crying.

The H!P site reveals some more info

グループ名が決定しました。


CHICA#TETSU (チカ＃テツ)
一岡伶奈(リーダー)・島倉りか・西田汐里・江口紗耶

CHICA(チカ)はスペイン語で「女の子」という意味で、
TETSU(テツ)は、哲学の「哲」を表しています。
CHICA#TETSU ＝「物事を深く考える女の子」という意味を込めて、
女の子が心の奥底に秘めている繊細な心情を、パフォーマンスを通して
表現できるグループになってほしいと願っています。


雨ノ森 川海 (あめのもり かわうみ)(略称：RFRO)
高瀬くるみ(リーダー)・前田こころ・山﨑夢羽・岡村美波・清野桃々姫
リーダーは高瀬くるみに任命しました。

雨は森を包み込むようにして優しく降り、
木の葉に落ちた雫の粒が静かに川にしみ込んでいきます。
そして川はやがて海に広がります。この巡りは永遠です。
その水の恵みこそが私たちの生命の源です。
グループ名は「自然」とそんな「生命の源」を表しています。
ある日、メンバー全員の名前の中に、
くるみ、田、山、羽、岡、波、桃など、美しい自然を表す言葉が入っていることに気づきました。
そしてそれぞれが「森、川、海」を彩る名前であることも。
彼女たちが人々の心に潤いを与えてくれるようなグループになることを願って名づけました。



現在「ハロー！プロジェクト“ONLY YOU”オーディション」も最終選考に入っています。
「CHICA#TETSU」「雨ノ森 川海」そして、オーディション合格者を加えて
さらに新しいグループを結成することも、ここに発表させていただきます。


BEYOOOOONDS (ビヨーンズ)

グループ名の語源は、英語のBeyond(ビヨンド)。
「〜を超えて」「〜の向こう側へ」という意味です。
既成の枠組などを超えて、自由に未来へ大きくビヨーンと伸びていってほしい、
という思いを込めています。
「BEYOOOOONDS」は「CHICA#TETSU」と「雨ノ森 川海」の合体グループですが、
そこに一芸に秀でた新メンバーが加わっていきます。
言ってみれば、形を変幻自在にビヨーンびよーんと変貌させる、
スライムのようなグループを目指していきます。

今後は「BEYOOOOONDS」として、
そしてそれぞれのグループ「CHICA#TETSU」「雨ノ森 川海」としても活動していきます。
これからの活動にどうぞご期待ください。
