Alliances are really only useful on a round for round basis.

Usually the way it would work is this:

"Hey, your favorite idol and my favorite idol are in the same tribe and they both just squeaked by last round. Do you want to pick another idol in the tribe to use as a shield?"

"Why don't we wait a day or so and see which other idol has a lot of votes and then we give her two more?"

I get that, but then that leaves you vulnerable to predictability/sabotage if you're making alliances on a round by round basis. Former partners will know how you'll vote and can use it against you when they form their new alliance #Paranoid #TrustIssues #WhySoSerious xD
