I feel like they're trying to C-uteify Berryz by giving them normal stylish outfits, in the hopes that it will work out the same as it did for C-ute , but this is a bit lackluster. Hopefully it looks better in a PV.

IMO she doesn't look bad, I mean if I saw someone who looked like her walking down the street she'd definitely catch my eye. But at the same time, when I was watching the clip, I was kind of fast-forwarding through it a bit, and when I got to the BK performance, there was a woman on the stage with them with her back to the camera, following along with the group's dance routine, and I was baffled for a second. It literally took me several seconds to realize that the woman was Maa. I'm not complaining. But I think, as an idol, if she wants to rock the short hair, that's fine, to me it looks awesome. But for it to look appropriately feminine, she needs to counteract the boyishness of it with something boldly feminine.

And I understand they're trying to convey the impression that they're all grown up now. But I don't think this off-the-rack frumpy maturity portends well for the group. Contrast what they're doing with, say, Perfume's new PV. Perfume's a few years older than any of the BK members. And they're dressing in a style that is mature, yet light. Similarly with C-ute's latest and Morning Musume's.

This is problem number one. Berryz suck at C-ute, and it's like there's no conceptual difference between both groups right now.

Maybe they should give Maasa huge dark rimmed glasses? Maybe they can rebrand Berryz as having a super hot lady (Yurina) and a girl who doesn't look like an idol (Maasa)? Specifically, start calling her AD Sudo. After the initial shock, I think it could catch on.

I like the song, but whoever styles these girls is doing a half-assed job with it. HIRE ME, UF*, I'LL DO A BETTER JOB.

It's sad when a 21 year old looks like a 40 year old Nakazawa Yuko. I think they were trying to style them the way C-ute was styled for Amefuri, but it's not happening...

There are plenty of girls in H!P who aren't "skin and bones" but look perfectly normal (Kanyon, Sakura, Nacky,..) and are styled perfectly fine.
Haruna & Chinami types are the exception. A body type like Maasa's just simply isn't the norm for idols.

I obviously meant someone who's bigger and not necessarily those who really are skinny (Haruna, Chinami) sorry for not being clear about that. H!P has a history of this. Kago, Yoshizawa, Ogawa, Suzuki Kanon, Maasa... hell, even Risako has been really poorly styled. And that's not so much because of the outfits are bad as a whole, but rather that they COULD have been done so much better and still have the outfit for the group (see One, Two, Three and Suzuki, if she'd been given the other type for that she would have looked a million times better) but UF stylists just don't do it good enough. It's their fucking up rather than the girls being overweight or whatever. Yeah, they are bigger than the other girls but they're not fat nor are they unhealthy. But the poor styling makes it look a million times worse than it has to be.

Over all, this dress thing they have going on here is bad for mostly everyone though. Not casual at all tbh, if one or two of them had dresses that'd be fine but all seven? Seriously. Way to come off as... low budget and uninspired.

This. I don't have a problem with just Maasa or anything. It's the entire group.

The girls' outfits don't even match in any sense, like they seriously just went to a thrift store and picked random stuff out in 5 minutes.

Maasa looks disgusting. Sorry guys I can't be less harsh than that. I never cared for her, but by comparison she used to look gorgeous with the long hair.

Wait, she looks "disgusting" because she changed her hair? How shallow are you? Why... do you care about hairstyles that much? Honestly, it shouldn't affect how you like an idol. Not just with Maasa, but like. You'll stop liking Saki if she cuts her hair? I'm sorry, but that's really fucking stupid. An idol isn't just about their hair. If asthetics are the only reasons you have for liking idols, then that's dumb. They're more than just looks. And if you can't overlook (heh) their hairstyle and judge them simply based on that then you should probably just. Not do that.

I still love Maasa with her short hair. My opinion of her hasn't changed because it's a fucking haircut get over it.

For some reason when it's Starra cursing at me I oddly feel less offended because in a way I expect that.

And I see four other people agreed with you!

Anyway. I didn't say it but I meant the short hair and the clothes combo. But for some reason the outfits looks even worse with the short hair.

And with Captain it's specifically her because I don't feel like I have seen much of her personality. But I think she looks really cute with the long hair.

No I don't only like idols for their looks thank you, but in my opinion Berryz isn't full of as much personality as say Morning Musume is right now.

I think I can enjoy an idols appearance as well as their personality and I can make a judgement on their looks if I damn well feel. I think people have said much worse. And I am not the type that goes around talking about Maasa's weight either. I don't care about her or Kanons weight. (Kanon in fact has tons of personality and has a beautiful face. Sure she has been styled terribly in the past and yes I critize that when it happens.) But that haircut looks hideous on Maasa and does nothing for her and you can demonize me for my opinion if you want but I won't change it. I don't like Maasa because I don't see much personality from her either. She's always been a background member and never stood out to me. She from day one has been a member that i didnt dislike, but didnt like much either. I know some people here are in love with her for whatever reasons they have and that's fine. But I don't have to jump on that ship. This isn't high school and I don't have to like her so I can fit in with the popular crowd.

So there you go. My opinion never changed because of her looks because I never really liked her in the first place. My opinion of Captain is based on the fact that I don't feel like I have much to base it on otherwise.

I'm not "fucking stupid" It's my opinion.
