It seems they've settled on pushing Miki pretty hard. She sounds really great here and I like they're pushing her despite some loud protesters in the fandom.

I mean, why shouldn't she be pushed? Sure, she's awkward as hell, but she offers a lot to Morning Musume in terms of talent. I honestly can't see how well 12th generation would go along in the group (besides Maria), if Miki wasn't in it. I think Miki being talented and Maria being charismatic helped lift a lot of weight off of Akane and Oharu's shoulders when it came to hate, besides the occassional weight discussions. I think Miki is the perfect member to have now with Duu walking out of the door, sure Haruka didn't start to get lines much until TIKI BUN, but she still contributed a lot to Morning Musume's performance factor but with Miki, Maria, Kaedii, Yoko and Chii-chan, I feel confident in Morning Musume's future without her.
