if your pre-order the the special box set from Pony Canyon, you can get a member's ticket to participate in a "Juice=Juke Box" event.

Juke box rules :
on 5/17 only, Meet one member in an individual booth (all the booths are together) and you can ask them to sing an acapella song of choice for you. They will announce a song list at the day of the event. (Only H!P songs). Their singing time is just 1 minute. there is no handshake.

Juice=Juice manager took a pic of Uemura Akari singing her one-on-one acappella song in her booth at the Juice=Juke Box event today. Uemura says the most requested song was Itooshikutte gomen ne. Are Kore Shitai and Cabbage Hakushou were also requested most. She said fans quietly listened to them and after they got to say their impressions. She was so nervous but after she finished, the tension in the air was relieved.

So this is actually pretty cool, because if you think about it, it's kinda like a criticizing thing where the fans can tell them what to work on!
(impressions, yanno? Like, not criticize in a bad way, of course.)

i highly doubt fans gave any criticism, even constructive ones unless maybe i were a vocal coach. i know if it were me, i would feel like i didn't know her well enough to give anything but compliments, in case anything else would hurt her feelings. even if i had some pointers in mind, i would just clap and say thank you and that it was lovely!

Given what you know about Japanese culture in general and idol fans in particular, do you really think fans would actually do that face-to-face?

Would you do it?

It's not the same as doing it under the cloak of pseudonymity on some backwater website. And it's not the same as simply being mean to an idol, as recently happened to Rina at a handshake event. Real criticism requires thought.
