I can't seem to find it now, but I remember someone (Sohee? Starra?) quoting Tsunku from his Twitter a month or two back where he basically said: "For recording, all of the girls sing the songs, then the lines for the final version are chosen based off of who sounded best in for particular lines. If you don't like how we do things, there are other idol companies out there."

Me too. Really, all groups with multiple vocalists should do this. (I mean, not just H!P, not just J-pop.)

Still it's clear that the front girls get the most/main lines all the time. So really, why make Chinami or LinLin sing the whole song? Lol, Tsunku/UFA.

It makes sense that they all should know how to sing the whole song as part of the group. Also, a line could feel so much out of place that they should be learned in the context of the entire song.

Some things seem already decided though, like how the first four lines of Maji desu ka Ska is sung by each of the 9th gen members (and probably a zillion more examples).

Also, I guess it gives incentive for the underdogs to try harder.

I finished watching the solo Ver. Of each. And I gotta say Miyabi and Momoko totally fucked up the first line...
I wanted to cry... Especially Miyabi...
But after the first line I think I liked the Miyabi Ver. The best. Her voice was awesome .
Airi freaking awesome as always.. I would have rather have Airi sing that last Momoko solo it sounded super awesome. I love Airi's voice!!!!
Momoko yells in the first line I wanted to punch her... Hahaha
She has a nice voice but not my type . Watching her sing was the best though , she's cute. . Haha.
