Oricon 1st week
Weekly Rank #6
Total 18,916

Her Oricon album sales are higher than her Billboard album numbers

I wonder how she would have done if she had released DISTANCE and a couple of others as a single. Her material was pretty strong, so I was expecting her sales to be a bit more impressive.

18k is a decent start. I think she would have done better releasing a single first, then an album. Albums are a bit more of a money commitment and singles would have gotten the "Debut Single" treatment. I'm not mad at 18k, but I think they promoted her wrong.

Album is a better start so she can have an arsenal of new songs to sing at lives and Budokan and not just one or two songs from a single and a singing a bunch of covers.

AFAIK, most soloists don't do so hot on Oricon these days, so those numbers are better than I expected them to be.

I don't know about everyone else but I'm pretty damn impressed with 18k, I'm confident she'll break at least 20k.

I actually tried to post earlier (like yesterday but my phone was fucking up) but what was everyone else's expectations or criteria for success? I was actually thinking anything above 10k would be successful and then when I looked up all the other recent H!P album sales and realized Airi has sold better than anyone but MM. (even when she was at 14k) that just confirmed it for me.

Based on my personal guess (10k) and the comparison to H!P albums I'd say Airi's debut is considered a success.

I guess the next test is to see how/what a single would sale- if she can at least keep up with the lower tier H!P groups I feel like UF will keep her around.

I was gonna say, 18K first week is beyond even my highest hopes, much less my realistic expectations.
I'm super psyched!

start again from TGL

Way better than the Distance performance. Still a couple moments of too much backing track though.
