Could mean one girl or five girls. Japan doesn't really have/use plurals the same way English/Swedish/most western languages? does. So even if they say 『歌が上手な女の子』(uta ga jouzu na onna no ko; a girl who is good at singing) it could mean a girl but also girls so, we don't know. (:
