Osaka Koi no Uta is tough song to solo. Kudo is not to Aichan's level yet.

Erina is great. Those people that say she's "the worst vocals ever in MM" or "At Koharu's level" or whatever really need to take a listen to the bad singers again. No, she's not perfect or even close to being a great singer or whatever. But, she does perfectly fine in both her songs. Okii hitomi isn't an easy song to begin with and until the end of the first chorus in Shortcut she sounded totally acceptable.

Having that said.

i think Haruka may have a problem with singing higher. not that she can't reach higher notes, just that it feels more natural to go a little flat without noticing.. that happened to me, my chorus teacher had to teach me the "point up" technique so that you remember to go higher than you usually do for the notes that you have a habit of going flat for.

sometimes i still do it, and only notice it when i hear myself recorded.. and sometimes not even then do i notice. :hehe:
in fact, Bryan recently told me i have a talent for singing a whole song flat.. but that it's still right, i just shift the key of the entire song. XD i had no idea, i thought i was doing it right LOL.

Eripon sounds awesome in Ooki Hitomi and Shortcut  . I loved her from the very start, but she sounded really bad at first, and now she's improved a LOT. Skill-wise, she's not necessarily a "good" singer (obviously) but there is so much idol-cuteness and energy in her singing.

Haruka and Ayumi were also decent in their songs. Didn't hit some notes right, but at least their voices are nice to listen to and they will improve in the future. In the past, there were members whose voices I really just didn't like too much at all (Aika, Konkon, Koharu, and a few others), but there's no one like that in the current line-up... I mean, considering all the newbies in the group.

This just reinforces my wish for Erina to take a stab at voice acting.

I had noticed that she does that in other songs, like on that one part in Seishun Collection and in Aruiteru. Anyway, I'm still pretty happy with how she did, compared to the others. Some parts were really lovely.

And I thought Eripon sounded pretty good (for her). Her voice doesn't annoy me, so that's good.

They should give Haruka all sorts of talking lines in songs. I want to hear her do the intro to AS FOR ONE DAY.

Decent is kind of stretching it. Now I love me some Eripon but that sounded really bad to me.

It was... Decent. It wasn't great by any means but i also didn't understand why she was basically doing karaoke.

Ayumi on the other hand... Was pretty bad. What it has occurred to me though is that I like her tone of voice (which is good because it's not something you can easily change), it's just her technical level that she needs to work on. If she gets vocal lessons I could easily see her leading, or at least sub-leading, a song here and there.
