But she keeps making "mistakes". The smoking incident has been practically forgotten amongst the suicide attempts, the affairs, the money and legal problems, the "artistic" modeling...

In other words, they stopped being "mistakes" a long time ago and became a clear pattern of behavior. One which is considered unacceptable in mainstream Japan.

I thought she was talking about JunLin, and Eri.

I didn't mean it like that, I didn't stop liking her because she's emotionally damaged but because ever since she left H!P she's done nothing BUT weird stuff. I wasn't a big fan of her jazzy album, and that 'photobook' was just too much, for example. I still like her better than Maki for what is worth XD And I actually feel bad for her, she's the same age as me and I have never experienced such emotional roller coasters. But:

I agree, it seems to me like she just wasn't too interested in changing her behavior pre-pregnancy. But who knows, really, I wish her the best.

Now, because I was a huge W fan and loved them both, I can't help comparing her to Tsuji and finding her way more likeable. She's responsible, scandal-free, funny, cute, weird, etc. :lol: Unlike Aibon, she never really stopped being the Nono that got me into H!P.

Based upon your translation:
"Sayumi: Yeah I also loved Morning Musume and watched them do The Peace, and to be able to do The Peace with all the members that I saw on TV --- well, not really all of them --"

It seemed to me that she was talking about having watched The Peace performed on TV by that post-Yuko pre-5th gen lineup. Kago is the only person from that lineup who wasn't at this concert.

^ Agreed. I was looking for that same quote yesterday and couldn't find it. I mean, if she was talking about missing eight people, then "almost all" doesn't really seem to apply.

Ah, "all the members that I saw on TV" doesn't really mean that one specific The Peace performance that she saw but really just all those senpai that she has seen on TV. Sorry, my bad. ^^;

Of course we don't know if Sayu ever saw Asuka on TV but... still. @.@

As for what word she used, I don't have the file anymore but I'm pretty sure she said 全員じゃないけど first and then followed it up with ほとんど全員 or something similar. Which, would be translated as "pretty much/almost all" and could very well fit considering her senpai that we missing were only four people. If she had her 同期(same generation) and 後輩(kouhai) in mind or not I don't know.

The point is most likely that she was happy to be able to perform with the MM line-ups that she saw on TV and never quite was a part of herself.
