If they just meant magical girls in general I could agree, but the colors and patterns didn't strongly remind me of anything from "Sailor Moon" when we first saw them.

It's simple but it does have it's moments. The sunrise scenes are neat and the way the camera jumped from solo to solo in that one part was COOL AS HELL.
