^The way they worked around Duu was the way this should have always been handled with MM in these situations. But it does feel like this single is much less "formation dance" than MM used to be.
As a song itself, I'm in the party of "this would have been a great album track" myself. It's a good song, but it doesn't POP the way the other two do. The video is beautiful, as is Maria, but the over-push of Maria is a bit extreme. Not even Riho was pushed that hard in a single video, until her graduation one of course. She usually would dance/sing/have visual focus with one other girl (Ayumi-dance, Sakura-sing, Sayu-visual focus). Maria is great, but I'm not sure she's going to be what they want her to be. Personally I think she needs a bit longer to "incubate" before being pushed as center, but it could be they're just testing the waters with the weakest of the A-sides, sort of like how they tested the waters with Nonaka for Ima Sugu.
I'm most interested to see Mukidashi though. Do we know who's supposed to be "center" for that? I know that the singing is pretty well distrubuted.
Oh... and Sakura is looking really good here as well, I adore her make-up. Is this the first single where she's been styled with bangs for everything since Brainstorming? Something, either the make-up, the bangs, or some confidence increase, is really working for her.
