moumoon will be part of Japan Nite at SXSW, but they won't be on the Japan Nite tour (which is basically going to be TsuShiMaMire, QUORUM, and the fin. by the time it gets to the west coast -- in the northeast, it will include some other bands, but no moumoon).

I posted a dance practice video of this song a while back, before I knew much of anything about the group (Seven Sense). I finally came across the music video for it. All I've learned so far is that they're apparently one of the first groups focusing on "zhongguo feng" styled music (fusion of traditional Chinese instruments/styles with R&B/rock).

I always have to wonder if anything is really going to make Cpop really hit it with Westerners. Of the big three, Jpop has a decent following, Kpop is EVERYWHERE, but Cpop still has a relatively small fan base.

Moh's SOTW - You by G.Soul:

I should tell y'all, he kinda sounds like a 13 year-old, but with the control and emotion of someone who's been singing for a very long time.
He was a trainee for 15 years and said he wouldn't debut until he felt he was ready. His EP is pretty great!

On an unrelated note, Maaya Sakamoto's new single is awesome. The instrumental for the main A-side is really dreamy.

I think they really liked "Maji Desu ka Ska!"?

^ There are definite similarities. :?:

AyuHikaru: I've always thought if it were going to happen the acts with the best chances would be S.H.E and Jay Chou, maybe Vanness Wu (since he's American, has music by Bruno Mars/Ryan Tedder already, and collaborated with Beyonce a while back).

Who knows, though.

Once it gets to the chorus the resemblance disappears, but everything else in the beginning really resembles Maji desu ka Ska.

+1 point for the Ikea heart pillow in the background

edit: My favorite new EDM track
