Re: [11/12] Berryz Kobo 36th single - Romance wo katatte / Towa no uta

WHAT.
JUST.
HAPPENED!?!?!?!

I woke up, decided to wait until after I showered to look at oricon, because I knew that they'd probably be at like, #4 and #3 would sell like 30k, so they'd probably be like, 20k...
BUT THEN THIS.

...For perspective, think about this:
This has outsold:
Every S/mileage first week ever
Every J=J ever
Every C-ute's first week (although I feel this next single will bring c-ute a new high, easily. :P)
...
What a fitting way to finish!
Berryz Hurrah!!!! :D

And I was definitely not choking up and about to tear... :fear:

61000 because it is the last single... <_<
But well ... congratulations.
Man what will happen for the last single of °C-ute ?!

Risako looks like a little boy here. :hehe: She's cute.
Miyabi's hair.... :^)

Good for them, after more than ten years of idol work they deserve to go out with a bang.

I'm actually on my way to buy my copy right now.

Yea them Berryz wota really stepped their game up purchase wise with this single. Goodness... if this was this singles total sales I woulda been pleasantly surprised. Let alone first day! Too bad its up against Kinki Kids who always get #1.

Btw that pic of Risako staring at Miyabi smiling is priceless. I'm imagining Risako like, "What the hell is she babbling about? Only a few more months of dealing with this shit." Then she can go be a hermit and dye her hair more often then Masae or whatever.

^^Risako is always the emotional one, so i'd assume she is sad that it's their final release. :P (although there IS the album one...)

^By some miracle, if they got like, another 40k they'd totally beat Kinki Kids. :P
...but let's be real.
#2 is JUST as great.

Kinki Kids Guinness Book of World Records of consecutive #1 singles, taken down by a group who has never had a #1's final single. It'd need to happen just for the sheer troll factor.

Pigs would fly before that would be allowed to happen.

Oh, come on! I see enough of that crap here in the U.S.; all of the stores switched over immediately after Halloween, with maybe one rack of special cooking gear for Thanksgiving. Now the Japanese are doing it, too? Christmas is still six weeks away!

Like, did you people forget about Thanksgiving? We may not have as long as a break, but it's still a great holiday.

Japan doesn't celebrate thanksgiving. The year I lived in Japan I had an all day meeting on thanksgiving. Also most apartments don't have an oven and turkey is impossible to find. I cooked chicken in a toaster oven and cried while eating my stuffing and improperly mashed potatoes.

Literally Christmas is the next holiday for them.

^ You're missing the point. It doesn't matter who's doing it or what else is on their calendar. If you take a holiday and spread it out over months, it becomes a meaningless smear like every other season of the year. It's no longer a holy day and therefore no longer special, and I believe it causes a sort of spiritual exhaustion in many people.
