That scene played out even better than I had imagined it.

i've watched the anime version of some of these, but i much prefer manga so here are my favorite manga series instead! :3

1. Candy Candy*
2. Sailor Moon*+ (would be #1 if i was going on anime, but the battle/powers/enemies part of SM is better in anime form)
3. NANA*+
4. Kodomo no Omocha* (Kodocha)
5. MARS+

* = has anime adaptation
+ = has live action adaptation

clearly i'm a shoujo kind of girl. XD also, my top 2 are from childhood and the rest from my teenage years.. i don't watch very much these days, but i did really enjoy Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Attack on Titan. what all my favorite series have in common is intense drama. can't get enough of it in any form.

speaking of intense drama, Celedam (continuing a conversation from like a year ago lol) i've decided i'm definitely going to read the Song of Ice and Fire books. i've gotten to the giddiness point where i can't get enough and the books are bound to be full of new details and surprises. but i've been on the receiving end of book > screen adaptation disappointment (minor disappointments, like missing moments/scenes/characters) so often that i'd like to experience it backwards this time. especially since i have people i'm watching with, it's nice to be on the same level.

i'll use the books to quell my need during the break between seasons, being careful not to get ahead. i should probably just do 1 book per break, but knowing me i'll probably read the first 3 in a row and then have to spread the rest out over time. :fear:

GoT:
Spoiler: show
Really didn't like how they first introduced Oberyn and Ellaria.
Other than that , a decent first episode. Also liked the Hound/Aria scene.
also everything that has Natalie Dormer ( and Sophie)..
It seems like they're going to show the wedding on the next episode . going to be intrsting :whistling:

Starra wrote:So, JPlop, tell me your top 5 anime series. Or more or less if you can't choose/don't watch much anime.

I don't really watch anime series (at least not anymore), but I like these:
- Sailor Moon
- Rurouni Kenshin
- Fushigi Yuugi (at least back when I was in elementary/school, before I used the internet enough to notice dumb fans)

Those are the ones that popped into my head. I read more manga since they were so cheap in Thailand. Manga series I like that have anime adaptations:

- Detective Conan
- Garasu no Kamen
- Love Hina
- Kamikaze Kaito Jeanne
- Flame of Recca

Jeez, it's been so long I don't remember all the good ones.

I'm gonna separate it for anime and manga
(it also can be seen here: http://myanimelist.net/profile/stam4o)

Anime:
1. Last Exile
2. Shingeki no Kyojin
3. Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters
4. Mirai Shounen Conan
5. Toradora!
5. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

Number 5 is a shared place, since they both are awesome <3
And since it's about series Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi is not featured.

Manga:
1. One Piece
2. Air Gear
3. Dragon Head
4. Zetman
5. SAIKANO (Saishuu Heiki Kanojo)

This is hard. There are so many, so so many good mangas out there, so limiting it to only 5 is really hard.
All these are masterpieces btw =D

Icey: Thumbs up for manga, thumbs up for NANA and Kodocha(which one I finished last week =) )
esm: Thumbs up for Kenshin and Fushigi Yuugi =)
Also, if you liked Love Hina, I suggest you Negima. Still by Ken Akamatsu, maybe a bit more shounen-ish, but it's very good.

Negima isn't much like Love Hina, imo. It's darker and much more action-y. Sure, there are still plenty of naked girls, but only the first bit reminds me of Love Hina... kind of.

Also, Zunu, thanks for reminding me that I need to rewatch SZS one of these days. I think I'll appreciate the jokes a lot more now, even if I did find them hilarious the first time around.

Hmm, maybe because of the anime version? Not sure which one you saw.
In the manga version though, there's clearly present Akamatsu's spirit, also noticeable in Love Hina.

I read the manga for both Love Hina and Negima!, and I've also seen the anime for both.

The fanservice is definitely Akamatsu.

Starra: That question is impossible to answer without debating with myself over my lists for hours.

The only thing I can be sure of is that "Sailor Moon" would easily be within the Top 2.
