This one is going to be painful. Mizuki was the member who got me interested in MM to begin with, with the 9th gen--it's truly the end of an era. I'm glad they've got WRio and Mei to continue on my interest in the future of the group, but I'm going to miss her a lot. I hope she has a kick-ass career after MM.

I can't believe Erina is the last one standing of 9th gen. I hope they bring in some amazing performers in 17th gen.

I think a lot of people have probably been semi-expecting this one for a while now, but it still managed to feel surprising. I'm really happy she'll get more time with Sakurai, and at least a little bit with 17th gen before we see her off to whatever's next.

Admittedly I haven't kept up with H!P and Morning much since after Sakura joined and especially after Berryz went on hiatus but I do often think of the 9th and 10th gen and how they just came in like wrecking balls. I remember watching Only You performances and really taking note of Mizuki and thought she had some serious potential and she's just proven me right at every turn. Great singer, dancer, performer, and leader. Definitely one of my all time favorite members.

The leader of Morning Musume. '23 Fukumura Mizuki, who will graduate this fall, will start a series of articles on non-no web titled "12 Years of 12 Colors" (12色の12年). The series will delve into her life from 2011, when she debuted, to 2022, one year at a time. The highlight of the series is the different visuals for each issue, which also incorporate FUKUMURA's wishes. It will be released every Friday at 6:00pm. Please look forward to it!

Of course, we will also have interviews to commemorate the graduation, including the ongoing one in 2023!
First, on August 18th at 6pm, we will release a special interview with the two new members of the 17th generation, who have just joined Morning Musume. The interview will include how 17th gen fell in love with Morning Musume, what songs Fukumura-san would like to present to them, and much more!

In this first installment, we look back at the events of 2011 when she joined Morning Musume as a 9th generation member. She talks about her memories of the time, such as the surprise announcement of joining the group after being rejected in the audition, and the days she spent with hopes and fears. Her dog, Claire, made an appearance as a special guest.
