Announced on their Instagram Live this morning, ANGERME will release their 31st single, a Double A-side single "Kuyashii wa / Piece of Peace ~Shiawase no Puzzle~" (悔しいわ / Piece of Peace〜しあわせのパズル〜)

"Kuyashii wa!" is a funky, cool song. Written by Nakajima Takui
They took the English words of their name "ANGER + ME" as inspiration for this song. They call it "ANGER ME MODE" (Sounds like something Takui would do). ANGER ME is when people don't know how to pronounce AN+GERME.
Please look forward to their "Kuyashii" (frustrated, angry) facial expressions.
"Piece of Peace ~Shiawase no Puzzle~" is a medium tempo ballad song. The MV is cute.

I also did the graphic design for the music video for ANGERME's "Kuyashii wa" MV. The song is full of a sense of speed and "I get it...!"! The lyrics! The dance moves you can't take your eyes off!

曲自体は何年も前にアンジュルム用に書いていて、その時はタイミングが合わずリリースに至りませんでした。
そこから今回候補に浮上した時に歌詞を微調整して、よりファンキーさを強調したリズムで仮歌も僕の声で歌い直しました。
作曲者である僕が歌っても結構難しい譜割りなんですよね。特にAメロなんて滑舌が良くないと歌詞が聞こえて来ないし、歌をリズムにハメないとスウィングしない。ですが見事にメンバー全員この曲のグルーヴを取得してくれたなと思います。
勢いがあって、突進していく感じ、全員で踊っている絵も想像出来る。
マイナー調の曲ですがアンジュルムが持つパッションのおかげかマイナー調の曲に聴こえないのが凄いなと思います。

歌詞は日常で感じる悔しさやジェラシーを逆手に取ってパワーに変換するっていうポジティヴなメッセージ。
周りと比べることなんてないけど、同世代の凄い人を見て自分にだって出来るんだと鼓舞することは何かを始める良いきっかけになるはず。
焦ることでいつもより頑張れることもありますよね。
常に一歩先へ行くアンジュルムがあえてこういう歌詞をシャウトすることに凄く意味があると思います。
オケはFUNK、BLACKなサウンドでCOOLなのに、こういう歌詞というギャップ。
でもそれはグループ全員の表現力がないと企画的な曲で終わったり遊びの１曲になってしまいますが、彼女達のポテンシャルに脱帽！
素直に「格好良い！」と僕みたいな音楽玄人を納得させてしまうパワーが今のアンジュルムにはあると思います。

僕がアップフロントから独立させてもらった後もこうして曲を書かせていただき本当に光栄です。
