Oh wow, I definitely didn't think she would be the first out of her peers to graduate. This is so shocking to me but apparently she's been sick according to the comments.

I was never a big fan of her singing or her early dancing in the group because of the choreography but by the time the 10th generation joined and they got a little danceline going the performances became really spectacular. I definitely thought Zukki would be the first of her generation to graduate. Oh wow.

A Report

Thank you for always supporting Morning Musume.’15.

I have something that I must convey to you all.

I, Sayashi Riho,
will graduate from Morning Musume. '15 on December 31 of this year.

It’s been about 5 years since the 6th grade, when I joined the Morning Musume. that I had admired since I was in kindergarten,
Starting from Tsunku♂-san, all of the numerous staff, all of the Morning Musume. and Hello! Project members, and even more so from all of the fans, by all of you I have been supported as I continued run forward.

However, in the midst of continuing to run forward, this year I began to think of my life from here on out.
Are there not other experiences that I must have, so that I can live strongly, as one person? Is how I have come to think.

I consulted many times with the management, and after taking the time to confirm the growth of my juniors the 12ki this year, I have come to the decision to graduate from Morning Musume.

In regard to my graduation day, when it will have been 5 years since I joined Morning Musume.,
as well as the last day of “Morning Musume.’15,” it has been decided that I will graduate at the Countdown Live on December 31.
For the Morning Musume. tour, December 7th and 8th at the Nippon Budokan will be my last performances.

I am sorry for the abrupt announcement.
I think I have probably surprised you.
But I have been worrying about this within myself up until now.
And from that this decision came to be.

I am thinking of going abroad to study dance and English from now on.
In doing so, I’ll get a lot of experience and grow from it, and I will do my best so that I may return quickly.

Although I only have two months until my graduation,
until then, I want to complete “Morning Musume.’15” together with the other members.

I want to run forward with all of my strength until December 31, so everyone, please treat me well!

She's the first to go...I really didn't think it'd be her, I thought it'd be any of the older ones first, and even then I thought no one was leaving until at least mid 2016...

At least she seems to have a solid plan for when she leaves, so I'm happy about that. (Odd though, Miki had the exact opposite of Riho's situation, where Miki was in America studying English and dancing then went to join MM >.>)

Anyways, it really feels like the group will be so different without her. She has so many lines, she was almost always center, and it wasn't only until recently where new songs didn't completely focus on her, which kind of brings up speculation that management knew she might leave and thus tried to get others more spotlight.

It's so odd now because, whether or not people liked her as ace, the group essentially loses their go-to center ace girl.

I hope she succeeds in her life after MM, and when she comes back to H!P as...whatever it may be, hopefully she'll be successful in that too.

It really does feel like Maki all over again. But in that case they still had their old ace Natsumi to buffer the blow so it wasn't really that hard of a hit to the group. This Morning Musume really doesn't have that. As crazy as it sounds, this is when I get the most interested in Morning Musume. When you remove a very large object, it allows the smaller objects to grow and shine in ways they wouldn't have while the other was still in the way. So while I'm sad she's leaving. I'm excited to see where Morning Musume turns next.

I'm surprised on some level that she's deciding to go, and a little sad about it since I've come to like her. At the same time I'm already excited about what might be in store for her when she finishes her studies abroad. I'll selfishly hope it's more than what Aika does these days.

I want her to have more than the countdown live. It doesn't feel right for someone who helped to change the image of MM and even H!P in general not to have a concert completely dedicated to her and her only. With the amount of fans she has, she could certainly fill a nice venue.

Then again Riho's never really needed stuff like that. She has always been more performance driven rather than popularity driven. I don't think she has anywhere else to grow in MM, she's at the top there, so I'm sure she's impatient to find new challenges so she can keep growing.

I also really hope she can snag really good dance teachers where she's going, possibly even study abroad at a dance oriented high school.

Who replaces her in the dance battle of brainstorming?
Who gets her Aisaretai?
Those are my questions.

This is so shocking. Out of all girls I really didn't expect her to be the first to go. @_@ I'll miss her like hell too. ): But gotta say that making a decision like this definitely is just like her and I admire her for being so mature at such a young age to be able to do it. Also super happy she stays in H!P so who knows what we'll get when she gets back. *_* Girl is a performer so I'm definitely assuming we'll get something when she's done studying abroad.

But damn. Riho was super important for the group in so many ways... now what. .__. I'll miss her a lot.

THIS

AyuHikaru wrote:Riho actually did have a pretty big impact on the group - even if her haters will say she didn't. The reason Momusu is known for their dancing now is because they did harder choreography for Riho. The reason Ayumi made it in the group (arguably Sakura, too) was to give foil for Riho's dancing skills. They pushed the girls to be able to keep up with her and the media took notice. Her ace status was never really in question either, not until recently (which seemed now, in hindsight, to be intentional) and she was extremely popular with the Japanese public, helping Momusu back into the public eye. Little lonewolf did have an impact. I hope her legacy for high quality dance continues on in Momusu.

AND THIS

Really, this so too sudden. She deserves a dedicated graduation concert in a much bigger venue, but Riho is probably okay with this knowing her. It might even be her own choice.

I am definitely sad seeing her goes and at the same time motivated by her decision. I am looking forward to see her improvement in the next few years. Maybe we will see Sayashi-sensei teaching KSS, or even dancing for Madonna.

At the same time, I am both nervous and exiting for how Morning Musume would become because the transition to current MM was based around Riho. Now she is leaving, I am sure all the members will keep her legacy. But they will need to find something else too. Something that would change the tide and attract more fans like Riho. I cannot wait to see how the current members or 13ki would become.

HKT48 Sashihara Rino tweeted about Riho's graduation announcement, so that created about 3 addition articles.
