This is what I have in my mind when I heard "S/mileage," young, fun and playful, so their current songs are not S/mileage-ish for me. I hope they keep these fun atmosphere with the new group though. And thinking about it again, adding KSS and change the group name is basically just like the original creation. Ayacho and Kanon put a lop of thought on this.

Manakan fits perfectly for both cheerful, energetic S/mileage and mature, distressed [insert name].

I would love it if Manaka got in. She's so cute, but she also has a more 'mature' voice when the song calls for it.
I hope they add lots of KSS, like when Tsunku added 5 girls for the 2nd generation. I also hope we don't have any problems like with Fuyuka or Aina (I respect their reasons for leaving, obviously, but it's always sad when members leave).

Assuming the reason that S/mileage is changing their name is because they don't have the trademark registration. I can imagine Kanon and Ayaka approaching Tsunku like:
Kanon/Ayaka: Tsunku... We've been thinking and we have something to tell you.
Tsunku: What a coincidence I also had something very important to tell you.
Kanon/Ayaka: We were thinking of adding new members...
Tsunku: REALLY? Thats perfect! I was just about to tell you that we have to change the groups name........

Even if that's the real reason, it doesn't mean they can't think of it as an opportunity to create a new beginning for the group.

I'm not saying they won't! If it wasn't their decision to change the name I think they thought about it and want to make the most out of the opportunities it could bring.
To tell you the truth I'm very excited for this name change. It will stop the comparisons between 4nin and 6nin and usher in an Era where we see the group as a separate identity with it's own merits.

I'm not sold on the name C/Leavage because of the connotation of leaving.
I am also wondering if they will keep the iconic "/" or go for another symbol. "+" has been used a lot, and "@" and "#" could cause serious hiccups for people trying to follow them on social media. "!" in programming is often referred to as "bang" so they could try Cinderella Revolution ! ! ! ! The star symbol is kind of overused (or else I would back shi (star) ge (short for Shin S/Mileage)). C-ute already uses "-" and Morning Musume already uses ".".
If they keep the "/" they could double down and call themselves S/Lash. The could be shown tied together by a rope to demonstrate their unity. Or, they could go in the BDSM fashion direction and write a bunch of fan fics.
