S/mileage's new name is ANGERME, 3rd gen members announced

That corner was perfectly executed and it was great to see their reactions. They were all so cute in completely different ways. Also, I was impressed at how Maho was all high tension at the very beginning, before the announcement. I was expecting her to be shy.

Ugh, this line-up. I just can't wait for them to start working all together. I hope their popularity explodes in Japan.

Rikako can be so awkward I love it. She'll be all poised and then go gollum-like suddenly when laughing, nervous or surprised. She may end up matching Meimei for my favorite. Murotan broke my heart when she was all 'but I thought I was too old' it makes me wonder how far she'd just given up. Maho is adorable, she also seems to love s/mileage a ton.

Honestly, I think changing the name is a mistake and they should not do it unless it is being driven by a copyright or trademark issue.

Ayaka has said that they want to be a generational group like Morning Musume, but they want to change their name because the S/Mileage of today is "different" from the S/Mileage of five years ago.

However, compare the Morning Musume of 1997 with the Morning Musume of 2002. The Morning Musume of 1997 were five girls who had auditioned to be in a rock band. The Morning Musume of 2002 had at least 8 girls who had auditioned to be in an idol group. However, they didn't change their name because they didn't want to forfeit their name recognition and history.

and Murotan is my favourite 3rd gen member. She never gave up! I was worried she'd never debut because of her age too but I was proved wrong.
