S/mileage's new name is ANGERME, 3rd gen members announced

S/mileage is growing up though. They can still be fun but they still have grown up.
Probably (hopefully) they'll leave the kiddy image and let the be for the next KSS unit that will debut whenever.

This is not what I expected to see when I logged on today. Whoa.

I think I'm excited though, after reading everything. I was confused about the name change, but understand the feeling behind it from Ayaka's and Kanon's perspectives more now. I want to say I hope it isn't too drastic, but a small change doesn't seem like it would make the difference they're looking for.

I like that the members will be coming from the Kenshuusei, since I've been wanting/hoping for another group debut containing some of them anyway. This isn't quite the same, but still nice. I have to think about which girls I would hope to see.

I could see Niinuma being added, the only problem is that she reminds me a bit too much of Maeda Yuuka. Which will either work in her favour or not, I guess.

I agree with the people who've been saying that Hamaura would be a good choice, she's got the right kind of voice and she's quite popular as a KSS.

I think it would be great if S/mileage only accepted Kenshuusei as new members during auditions. It would give a lot of exposure to the Kenshuusei. Fans of s/mileage would always keep an eye on the Kenshuusei because they never know when an audition will happen and they will already have an idea of what girls they are rooting for. It would also be motivating for the Kenshuusei because they will know for a fact they have a shot at debut.

I have a feeling that Kanon and Ayaka wanted to change the name. I think they associate s/mileage with 4nin and are having a hard time accepting the change that happened when Yuuka and Saki left and the new members were added. Maybe they are aware that the fans keep comparing the two eras as well. I think to truly move forward they feel they need to create a new group with new members. And maybe they are hoping this change will make feel more comfortable.
