...Geez. A countdown. XD I think they are just trying to find every possible way to make this the most emotional thing ever. XD Like "YOU ONLY HAVE 101 DAYS AND12 HOURS 54 MINUTES AND 36 SECONDS LEFT UNTIL NO MORE SAYUMA AND NEW MM MUAHAHAHAHA!"

And also, in regards to fowards/backwards, I just use whichever one i think works at that moment, and then attempt to clear up what i meant. makes life easier. :P

The way I think about it is that if it can be pushed back or forward then it's part of someone's responsibility, something at least one person has to remember to deal with and take care of. Thus, the event/date moves up/forward or down/back the person's list of priorities.

It's also about reference points and what's being moved. With daylight savings time you "spring forward" and "fall backward" because you're basically shifting the imaginary time line itself for a region; your reference line has changed but all the points on it are still the same distance apart relative to one another (or at least the effect is on everyone in the zone where DST applies, like it's not just you who lost/gained that one hour). When you move events you're moving points on the line... and then it's what people have already explained.

Still very confusing though, no matter how you explain it. :P It's just one of those things you gotta accept about our language. :P I guess the up/forward down/back in priorities is a good explanation. :P

It depends. Taking aside the simple difficulty to get used to a new language, rules like that are quite trivial and doesn't really make English more "difficult" gramatically, but instead they remark English's distinctive characteristics. I guess it comes up more to an intuitive learning and interpretation. Versus the more technical learning when it comes to gramatics - I'm pretty sure English's gramatics are quite nothing in comparison to many other languages  (if not, doubt it would be the most popular language on earth).

^So... more than just accept it, you should let it intuitively captivate you :hehe:
