I just remembered my Hello Project average age calculation spreadsheet, time for an update with the new girls.

With the 12th generation the average age of Morning Musume dropped from 17.63 to 16.66. MM was already the group within H!P with the youngest average age. But before the 12th generation the gap with S/mileage and J=J was literally days. Now MM is the youngest group by over a year (S/m = 17.72, J=J = 17,76). When Sayumi leaves the average age will drop even further to 16.16. The group will be very young, but it won't beat the record of 15.94 just after Reina left.

This weekend we will see if MM stays the youngest group with the new additions to S/mileage.

age is calculated as:
days since birth / 365.25

average group age as:
total from all days since birth / 365.25

Honestly. I'm seeing a lot of pre-haircut Eripon in Miki when she's photographed from a distance. It's interesting as a long time fan to see the gradual transformation from girl next door to idol. It's probably my favorite part of being a Morning Musume fan.
