I actually really want send in something, so I hope I'll finally have a voice again before the deadline. ;_; It's been like two months now,
Watching the episode, I can't get over how gorgeous Haruna looks in these plaid outfits. her hair is just magical
. I also love how How Do you Like Japan has become AYUMI's song. It's always been one of my favourites and her voice is so good for it. Sakura's also started making the part she copies from Ai more of her own, which I'm glad. The song sounds so wrong without it, but it felt like she was struggling to not be nervous about doing it before. Masaki played with her "Is it Neccessary" and her attitude there cracked me up so bad. I know I'm biased, but I feel like during this particular concert she had a lot of these moments that remind me of how Riho is most of the time... like little random sparks of ace-dom.
I do wish that in What is LOVE they'd have her start actually singing her autotuned/lipsync line. It wasn't so much an issue before when she was paired with Sayu doing her line, but hearing it right after Riho sings it for real makes it fall flat. Though it could be that the sound leveling was different than normal for this recording, I did notice that the girls' voices were more audible than normal.

Nonaka did a great job hosting J-MELO today. She interviewed May J. in English. Nonaka just needs more confidence in English conversations and shes got this.

May J and Miki are an awesome pairing, they need to interact with each other more often. Or a Morning Musume 16 x May J collab.

Listening to this makes me think that May J's cadence is really influenced by the fact that there is a Japanese audience they have to contend with as well/producers or some kind of vocal coach is telling her to talk like that. The earlier clips have her sounding much more natural, and after about 2 questions she starts sounding perfectly natural in the interview as well.
But to add on to that Nonaka uses an almost identical cadence here (which is slightly creepy lol), so that also makes me think that.
I'm really impressed though about how natural Nonaka is with this. She doesn't seem nervous at all. I can also tell she really admires May J a lot. My head canon has this idea that because they both are kinda similar in a way they really connect with each other and May J gives her a lot of advice about stuff.
