So I decided to watch the C-ute video a second time. I finally understood them. I guess reading very slowly in unison with their heavy accent really made it confusing at first. It also looked like they were reading their lines as well. With Kikka, it sounded a bit more natural, but she also had help with Eric Fukusaki.

It'll be a challenge, but I'm keeping my expectations low. Hopefully it'll sound okay. :)

I thought °C-ute's Spanish was ok. They spoke slowly so I could make out all the words without any problem. Then again, it's my fourth language and I'm only intermediate so it's not like I'm the best judge. I mix up Spanish and Japanese all the time since I never get the chance to practice the former.

I expect Miki and Maachan to lead this song. I'm sure we'll be impressed.

I found I was able to understand most of °C-ute's "Flashdance" performance, so if the levels are around there I don't think it'll be as awkward as I'm expecting (unless it's a slow song).

Lol yeah because a few classes can help them automatically better their pronounciation of an entire language that none of them have ever fully spoken before. Yeah, they'll totally remember. Their accents totally won't come out and make them sound like they are goofing up on some words. Yeah, totally. Logic is flawless.

As singers as long as they're taught the song with correct pronunciation/rhythm it shouldn't be terrible. I mean singers in choir sing in unfamiliar languages constantly and there are Japanese singers who talk with terrible accents but sing clearly. If J-melo is involved they may be receiving extra coaching as well.

Part of MM's problem with English has been with the way it's written. If I sing karaoke with scoring turned on, I often fail when English happens because my correct pronunciation doesn't fit the beat and is thus wrong. It sounds like Tsunku really tried this time to write in English so I assume that means he's trying not to fall in his usual pitfalls.

In general I think they'll be fine.

"asking Nonaka-chan and mom" so... does that mean "Nonaka-chan and her mom" or "Nonaka-chan and my mom"?
And if the latter, is there something here I'm missing?

Probably her own mom, and I guess if that's the case, it's not too impossible to just blindly ask her mom if she possibly knows what a "th" pronounciation sounds like, just in case she might know about it or just as a random conversation.

Though, it'd be interesting if there's another explanation.

Everytime I talk to someone who doesn't speak English as a first language they always talk about the "th" sounds being so foreign, so Mizuki's post made me laugh.

I thought ℃-ute did a pretty decent job of speaking Spanish at the Mexico City concert, where they used it A LOT during the intros and MCs. Their Spanish pronunciation was definitely better than their English, at any rate.
