I managed to beat 2048 Morning Musume.'14 version.

I'll put the strategy I used in spoilers for those who don't want the game to be spoiled:

The strategy I used is to try to keep the highest ranked piece in the upper left hand corner, followed by the second highest one square to the right, etc. Sometimes the game can kick you out of this strategy if there are no pieces in the right most column and no "up" move. Then you have to scramble. But, if the game is kind to you, then this strategy will usually win.

^Yup, I used something similar.

I kept it on the left lower corner and kept using only left and dow as movements, combining two of the same girl whenever it is possible, so the up an right commands were used only if there was nothing more to do - this is when you got a symmetric distribution an you have to change it somehow.
