I watched this movie today. It is a very touching story about a girl who has to leave Daito Island, a small island south east of Okinawa, once she turns 15 to attend a high school in Okinawa because the island does not have a high school, and how the situation changes the relationship between her family members. The story is based on a real settings - the same situation happens every year in the real world. The setting is great. The story is great. The acting is great. Highly recommended.

It stars Miyoshi Ayaka, ex-Sakura Gakuin member. I basically learn about her today from this movie because I do not follow Sakura Gakuin. Reading more about how she used Sakura Gakuin as a stepping stone and how Amuse promoted her, I have to wonder how many past and present H!P girls would become more successful in show business by now if UF also promote them based on their talents while they are still in H!P, rather than just focusing on the concert performances. For example, if they have put Meimi in an auditions for a movie role, we will probably see her in a theater by now. Amuse is a very powerful agency, so maybe it have not happened because UF just does not have any negotiating power.

"What took you so long, old man?"

I feel like someone got their chocolate in my peanut butter. It's stunt-casting, but it's not — there are only so many British actors, after all, so this sort of thing is bound to happen. In fact, she's kinda sorta the sister-in-law of Clara Oswald.

I have decided that I like Strike Force Kitty 2 better than Strike Force Kitty.

I'm really starting to enjoy the songs in "Steven Universe". This was lovely.

New Gundam series announced: IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS

Debuts October 4.

I stopped watching Reconguista in G three episodes in but this already looks far more promising.
Getting a slight Gundam X vibe (and I really enjoyed Gundam X).

My dad and I went to see this movie called Love & Mercy.
It's about Brian Wilson from the Beach Boys and the whole Eugene Landy thing.
It was actually REALLY good. 'twas slow in the beginning, but really emotional and sped up towards the end.

I'm not gonna post the trailer because it spoils it. but watch it at your own discretion.
I just posted a teaser. :)

I just finished watching "Wayward Pines", and all I'm walking away with is feeling like I need to start checking credits more often before watching something.
Spoiler: show
If I had known beforehand that M. Night Shyamalan was involved in any way (director of pilot, producer), I probably wouldn't have watched it. At the very least I would have been prepared for characters to become slowly annoying and a massively frustrating ending.

Not that the blame goes completely to him (though the ending feels like one of his). The other producer isn't doing much better, seeing as the only other shows he's created/executive produced were canceled almost immediately.
Long story short, don't waste your time with "Wayward Pines".

Thanks for saving me the trouble of watching it.

I finished catching up on Mr. Robot and I'm really enjoying it. The first show on USA I feel like keeping up with tbh.

I'm a little sad to be reading that Miss Piggy and Kermit have broken up. The interview in TV Guide seemed just a little bitter? Maybe not quite the right word, but close enough. There's no way Denise will be able to live up to Piggy, despite her flaws.

Spoiler: show
The interview was a cute idea to promote the show, I hope it turns out to be as fun as I want it to be.
