they're replacing Miiyan?

Anyway, I like the new design, and the fact that the original Usagi is in it makes me kinda excited for this.

I'm getting Utena vibes from the character designs.

I think Miyabi (last year's Mercury) is busy tbh. She's getting quite popular and all after all. She was a big fan (and a great singer) so she probably would have liked to return... but yeah.
So happy that Jupiter and Mars are the same though omg. *__*

Right. She's such a perfect Makochan. *__*
They never got a /perfect/ Makoto for the previous run of Musicals so it makes me really, really happy that Yuu stayed. <3

I like all of them, but I agree she's a perfect Makochan.
I'm also glad they continue with the all female cast (Yuuga is awesome) .

I'm definitely not feeling the new character designs, but maybe since they've put so much time into the production of this anime, they'll look nicer in motion? I dunno. They certainly look closer to the original manga, but... that means they also suffer from a lot of the problems that Takeuchi's drawing style often has (loooong bodies, awkward leg positions, etc).
Eh, we'll see. ^^

Eff you, esm! After successfully ignoring this show for the past couple of years, your pimping of it finally conquered my curiosity, and now I'm in the midst of binge-watching it like a madman. Pretty sure I've got deep vein thrombosis or something.

Looks like a combination of what is unfortunately popular in current animation, and an attempt at adapting some of Naoko's original style (with exaggerated/extra lanky limbs). I just don't think they mixed the two all that well (lack of balance, everyone is too thin everywhere). Hopefully it looks better in motion.

Also, the position of Minako's right (our right) arm in her transformed picture bothers me a lot.
