I don't know if a Ladies Pro Wrestling promotion counts as a band, but at the 7:25 point of the video the fighters "make up" after fighting and idol sing a song along with Hello Kitty.

Notes:

When Ice Ribbon first started (around 2006) the Dojo didn't even have a ring so dojo shows were on a mat with other girls surrounding the ring acting as ropes.

Matsumoto Miyaka introduces herself as "ichiban kawaii" and pulls out one of her moronic (for a wrestling match) dance poses in the middle of the fight.

^ Nice tune. Too short. Video made me chuckle.

Cartoon history -
The original Pogo musical group was named after the comic strip character Pogo. The group consisted of members of the group Buffalo Springfield after they disband. The Pogo name was changed since the comic strip creator (Walt Kelly) objected to the name use. Walt Kelly died in 1973 at the age of 60 having begun his career at Walt Disney Studios as an animator in 1936.

Hmm. I knew about Poco the band and Pogo the comic strip, but I didn't know that Poco was originally called Pogo.

My favorite Swiss band, LiLiPUT, was originally called KLEENEX, but the Kimberly-Clark company objected to the use of their tissue trademark.

I don't even follow EXO, but I do like this.

I like "Stay" better than "Playing with Fire," but they're both so underwhelming compared to "Boombayah" and "Whistle." Honestly, they're more of the female Big Bang than 2NE1.

Honestly, I like Playing With Fire better than Stay. But Lisa keeps sounding like CL, and one CL is enough. :fear: Stay would be better if it went to a group with solid vocals.

Is someone more familiar with the current kpop world able to tell me if there are any groups around that are similar to what GP Basic was, as far as music goes? (More specifically around the time of "Game" and "Jelly Pop".)

It won't be surprising if it doesn't exist. I'm just curious, and I don't particularly want to spend a ton of my time trying to find a source that easily allows me to spend even more time hunting through a bunch of new/indie/etc girl groups just to find nothing.
