No. Using a hyphen makes it look like it was 2 people. Plus, the point of the whole situation was because of a coincidence that the first syllable of their names spell out the name of an existing country. America it is.

so if anything, the coincidence of their first syllables should make it "Amerika"

It just sounds funny. Say out loud "I hung out with America today." "America bought me a gift."

America is spelled "Amerika" in many languages that use the Latin alphabet because it's more common to use only the letter "k" for the [k] sound.
