Well Rikako currently has no bangs.The joke was that Sasaki cut her hair and thus had bangs again.

Because Denki likes Rikako WITH bangs, she is sad it was a joke as that means Rikako was lying and still does NOT have bangs.

Bangs (or fringe, if you speak proper British English) are on the face, yeah. They're the hair just above the eyebrows (although some girls have a short fringe).

When one has a hairstyle "with bangs" it means that hair in front is short Usually people will specify "long bangs" if they are talking about them being long, if they still consider them bangs at all (I usually do but I know some people don't when they're the same length as the rest of your hair).

Here's what wiki has to say: Bangs, or a fringe, is a shaped cutting of the front part of the hair so that it lies over the forehead. Bangs are usually cut fairly straight at or above the eyebrows, but it can also be ragged or ruffled, spiked up with hair gel, swept to one side or the other, or cut longer to fall over the eyes.

I think the confusion is that the hair starts out long but parted, then becomes a bang/fringe when it is cut short. Yet it's "long" because it exists where there was no hair before.

I was thinking about this whole thing today in the morning during school, and I realized my issue. Which, as Zunu said, is when it's long there are no bangs.(because they cover the face, so instead people push them to the side...) But then once cut, it MAKES the bangs.
So basically, I was confused because I pictured her in my head, as forgetmenots said, with long bangs swept to one side, when she currently doesn't have them (or does she?) , and that made me confused.
