Miruhito ga Mita 5-23-15 - reporters Suzuki Kanon and Iikubo Haruna find out how an Enka singer's lifestyle is like compared to an idol.

hopefully, Kanon and Harunan get more work like this since they are not in the Morning Musume. '15 Triangle musical.

^ Oh good I'm not the only one who thinks so...for me its like a portion of her back just like got cut off, her body looks so dainty in comparison to her head...

^^ It appears to me that they used a wide angle lens at a tight distance. Notice the distorted effect in the rightmost portrait below (click for full-size).

As the associated article points out, when using a wide angle lens, you have to move up very close to a person to take a portrait, and that proximity produces a sort of visual distortion that we ignore in normal life but becomes apparent in photos. Plus you wouldn't normally get such dramatic bokeh (out of focus area) from a wide angle close up with that level of light, so I'd guess they added that digitally.

That picture of Momoko by the window is really nice. I like how natural it looks (thank you, hair/makeup crew); it's the kind of shot I would probably stop at while flipping through a random magazine.

^ I agree, the window one is the best, and it looks amazing! The others are weird (well, the first two are, the last one seems less natural, not necessarily weird).
