makes me appreciate the current Morning Musume line-up more tbh

she always for some reason looks like shes half assing when she dances, which is why I don't really like her too much.

^ I agree. It made me realize how well MM perform together and the sharpness of their moves. Also, Meimi and Karin should have switched lines, definitely.

I don't know about the J=J and s/M version being more "pleasant" at all, it actually made me cringe at times, and the supposedly vocal powerhose that Meimei is, failed to deliver Riho's line....

tbh I find MM's Help Me strictly superior in every single way, and same as you guys, made me appreciate their efforts more. They work really well as a team. (aaaaand to be totally fair, it's THEIR song, so it's totally expected

It was a perfectly fine performance, guys. Obviously it's not gonna be as good as the original but like. That's kind of not the point of these performances?

^ Why "oviously" a cover couln'd be as good as the original ...? Simply, these voise are a different style...
I said "more pleasant", but it's true, Riho progress more and more, and Sakura is a jewel. =3

It's just a concert performance that they'll only perform a few times and never do again, so they don't practice it until it's perfect like they would if was their own song. Despite that, I thought the singing was still better. Obviously, not the dancing.

The only singing that I thought was not as good or better was Karin doing Sakura's big line. It was good, though. Just not as good. But that line is right in Sakura's tessitura, not Karin's, so... yeah.

^ Meimi doing Riho's line wasn't as good either.
Also, Sayube wasn't as good as Sakura.
And Takechan also fell flat with her line.

And the unison parts weren't as good.

And I could nit-pick even further.
