question
I kno nothing about larynx transplants but, if you do that, does it change your voice? As in, will you sound the same as you did?
Basically I'm asking, is the way you sound because of your larynx/voice box or because of how your body/mouth cavity is shaped?

So meaning, if theoretically Tsunku were to get a transplant, would he sound like himself or someone else?

I believe, yes. Your voice will change because it's a different apparatus. Just as in real life your voice changes over time because your larynx grows, thickens and loses elasticity, even after you're an adult. However the "fingerprint" of your voice will remain similar because everyone has their own unique style of speaking. It's like when you have a sore throat or laryngitis, your voice sounds different, but you're still recognizable as yourself, usually. (OTOH we all know those people with chronic laryngitis who sound super-sexy for like two days every three months or so.) Anyway, as far as I know, larynx transplants are exceedingly rare. There's a woman on youtube who had one in 2011. Even if you *could* sing, I'm not sure a doctor would recommend it because singing puts a lot of stress on your vocal apparatus even under normal circumstances. But really I'M JUST GUESSING. You'd be better asking a question like that on a site like quora.com, where there's a chance an expert would respond. Same goes for most non-jpop related questions, I guess. ;-)

So much of what Tsunku does, I'd imagine, will depend on his own priorities (along with existing techniques and available technology).

Spoiler: show
My own off-the-wall speculation: I wonder how difficult it would be to create a Tsunku vocaloid using samples from existing recordings of his original singing/speaking voice. It would hardly be the same as actually singing, but it might be something that he could compose with. It wouldn't have to be in the Miku range -- I think that vocaloids can be set to the normal human voice range. But I don't know if they can be made to sound very natural...

TUnku, that's a damn interesting idea! :notworthy:

Spoiler: show
I imagine something like that will eventually happen with most professional singers as they age and as technology improves; they'll sweeten their studio recordings with samples of their younger voices. If it's not happening already.

Whoever said Tsunku needs a vocaloid of himself is right on the money.

As a H!P fan I should probably hope that Tsunku would write for other H!P groups again (especially Kobushi) but I actually want him to work with more JE groups... :fear: That Kisumai song is really good I want to hear more. :fear:

Though, Angerme isn't really even a Tsoonk production anymore.
