There are squirrels, but they're not as common, especially in cities. I thought they're not as common in Europe as well, or at least they're more shy than the eastern gray squirrels we have in the US.

She should visit this place in Tokyo.

And similar life experiences — they're both public figures who have sacrificed much of their lives to training and management rules. Baseball players in Japan (the good ones, at least) are not "jocks" in the same sense as high school and college athletes in other countries. They don't party and they don't get the girls. Instead, they're almost religious about improving their game. The perks don't come until after they hit it big at the professional level.

She should come here. There are lots of squirrels on the U.C. Berkeley campus, and they're not shy.

I think it's really great that Mano-chan decided to take this trip by herself. I personally prefer to travel solo. You end up interacting with the locals more when you don't have traveling companions.
