guessing they don't accept US registrations (or don't ship to US), but can anyone confirm?

It doesn't look like it, at least from what we can see so far. The UF-Online front page says that shipping is ¥900, but ¥1900 to Okinawa and island areas. There's no mention of any overseas shipping rates.

i registered, in any case. nothing really changes when you're logged in except in the "My Page" section you see links to Order History / Status, Confirm / Edit Account Information, Shipment Details, a link I don't really understand (but has to do with Purchase History as well), and a link where you can request to withdraw membership (I guess remove your account?).

so no additional information, just thought i should mention you can register/login if you want (i had to write my name in katakana on both fields, because it doesn't allow roman letters in name fields), required fields are only: name, name (furigana, this is where Japanese people would write hiragana/katakana reading of their kanji), e-mail, confirm e-mail, receive mail magazine (yes/no), password & confirm password.
